Consisting of perfectly cooked air fried wings coated in a savory sweet, spicy and lemony sauce, this wings recipe is easy to make and seriously delicious! To make these wings, you will need the key ingredients shared below.

Key Ingredients

  • Chicken Wings – Flats and Drumettes
  • Avocado or Preferred Oil
  • Baking Powder
  • Seasonings (Salt, Black Pepper, Paprika, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Lemon Pepper Season)
  • Lemons
  • Honey
  • Hot Sauce
  • Unsalted Butter

(See recipe card below for the exact measurements for listed ingredients.)

Preparation

  • Prep the Wings – add the wings into a large mixing bowl. Next, add in the baking powder, lemon zest, oil and seasonings. Give the mixture a good mix.
  • Air fry the Wings – preheat the air fryer to 400F and spray some cooking oil into the air fryer basket. Evenly arrange half of the wings, about 8 to 10 wings, in the air fryer basket. Air fry the wings for 15 minutes. Use kitchen things or a fork to carefully flip over the wings and then air fryer for an additional 6 to 8 minutes or the wings are thoroughly cooked. If you were to insert a kitchen thermometer into one of the wings, it should register at least 165F or higher. Transfer the wings to a large plate or baking sheet. Repeat process with the next batch of wings.
  • Make Sauce – as the last batch of wings cooks, make the hot honey lemon pepper sauce. In a small saucepan under medium heat, melt the butter. Add in the hot sauce, honey and seasonings. Whisk the ingredients together to combine. Bring the sauce to a low boil and cook for 4 to 5 minutes or until the sauce starts to thicken slightly. Remove the pan from the heat and let the sauce cool a bit, about 5 minutes.
  • Coat the Wings – transfer the fully cooked wings into a large mixing bowl. Pour the sauce over the wings and give the bowl a good shake a few times to fully coat the wings in the sauce. Alternatively, you can use a spatula to coat the wings in the sauce.
  • Serve – transfer the hot honey lemon pepper wings to a serving platter. Drizzle over the wings any remaining sauce from the mixing bowl and serve the wings with your desired sauce and/or side.
