Homemade Tartar Sauce
This Homemade Tartar Sauce recipe is a beautiful blend of creamy, savory and tangy flavors that pairs nicely with a variety of dishes!

- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 4 tablespoons shallots or white onions, finely chopped
- 4 tablespoons dill pickles, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons capers, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon dill pickle juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
In a small mixing bowl, add all of the ingredients and mix until well combined. Use immediately. For longer storage, transfer tartar sauce into an airtight container like a mason jar and store in fridge for 1-2 weeks.
- For a sweeter tartar sauce, replace half or all of the dill pickles with sweet relish.
