Big Mac Sauce

One of the highlights of this recipe is the sauce. The sauce, which is the perfect balance of creamy, sweet and savory is what really adds that classic flavor associated with the Big Mac to these tacos. To make the sauce, you will need these key ingredients:

  • Mayonnaise
  • Ketchup
  • Sweet pickle relish
  • Yellow mustard
  • White vinegar
  • Onion powder
  • Paprika
  • Garlic powder
  • Sugar

Big Mac Tacos

To make the actual tacos, you will need these key ingredients:

  • Small tortillas – street taco size flour tortillas. To make gluten-free, use corn tortillas. 
  • Ground beef 
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Avocado oil
  • American cheese slices – may use cheddar cheese slices, if preferred
  • Shredded iceberg lettuce
  • Dil pickles

Preparation and Assembly

  • Step 1 – make the sauce by mixing all ingredients together in a small bowl to combine. Set aside.
  • Step 2 – preheat oven to 200F. Place 8 tortillas on a work surface.
  • Step 3 – divide ground beef into 8 equal portions (about 2 ounces). Roll each portion into a ball and place it at the center of each tortilla.
  • Step 4 – Press the meat flat into a circle until it reaches the edge of the tortilla. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Step 5 – Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and drizzle in some oil.
  • Step 6 – in batches, place the tortillas in the pan beef side down and cook for 2-3 minutes. Flip the tortillas and add a slice of cheese on top. Cover the pan for 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese.
  • Step 7 – Remove from the pan and repeat with remaining tortillas. You can keep the cooked ones in the oven preheated to 200F to stay warm until ready to eat.
  • Step 8 – Top your cooked tortillas with shredded lettuce, diced onions, pickles and a drizzle of the Big Mac sauce. Enjoy!

Ingredients

Big Mac Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sweet relish
  • 1 1/2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow or Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Big Mac Tacos

  • 1 pound 80/20 ground beef
  • 8 small street taco soft flour tortillas
  • 8 slices American cheese slices
  • avocado or olive oil

Assembly

  • Shredded lettuce iceberg or romaine
  • Dill pickles
  • 1 small white onion, diced

Instructions

Big Mac Sauce

  • Add all the ingredients to a small bowl, mix to combine and set aside.

Big Mac Tacos

  • Preheat oven to 200F. Place (8) flour tortillas on a work surface.
  • Divide ground beef into 8 equal portions. Use hands to press each portion of beef over the top of the tortillas to the edge. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and drizzle in some oil.
  • In batches, add the tacos into the pan meat side down and cook for 2-3 minutes and then flip.
  • Lower the heat and add a slice of American cheese on top of the patties.
  • Cover skillet and cook tacos for 1-2 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the tortillas are golden and crispy.
  • Remove from heat, transfer to a baking sheet and place in pre-heated oven to keep warm. Repeat with remaining tacos until all (8) are cooked.

Assembly

  • Once all the tacos are cooked, top each taco with shredded lettuce, diced onions, dill pickles and a drizzle of the sauce.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!!
